The Mobile Phone industry is a rapidly growing industry requiring
cutting edge design. Mobile phones need ever smaller sized, broader
band antennas, base stations need to provide good coverage and low
interference, as well as remain within RADHAZ restrictions.
With
several antennas on a typical urban base station, RADHAZ are issues of
concern, mainly for the public, and inter antenna coupling should be
minimised.
Issues of concern
- Input impedance and radiation pattern analysis of multiband miniature mobile phone antennas.
- EMC/coupling analysis of base station antennas and cabling.
- RADHAZ analysis of both base station antennas and mobile phone antennas.
Solution
Simulations can generally be divided into the following classes.
- Small (e.g. Communication antenna in mobile phone), solved using MoM (500 MB).
- Medium to large (e.g. mobile base station antennas on small tower), solved using MoM (1-2 GB), or MLFMM (400 MB).
