Compact Circular Microstrip Antenna for Conical Patterns

Properties of slot and post loaded circular microstrip antennas are investigated and a new compact patch antenna generating conical radiation patterns is realized. The proposed design allows a size miniaturization of about 50%. Applications of this antenna include wireless LANs.
