Aircraft have come a long way from their inception in terms of basic operational performance. During this evolution, the increase in number and complexity of on board electronics has mushroomed. Typical avionics functions and associated frequency range include: 1) Automatic Direction Finder – 190KHz to 1.7795 MHz, 2) High Frequency communications (COM) – 2MHz to 30MHz, 3) Marker Beacon - 75MHz, 4) VOR/LOC - 108MHz to 117MHz, 5) VHF COM – 134MHz to 176MHz, 6) UHF COM – 225MHz to 400MHz, 7) 7) GPS - 1575.42MHz, 8) x-band weather radar, and other functions.
