A current based hybrid method combining the method of moments (MoM) with physical optics (PO) has proven to be a valuable numerical tool for the analysis of a variety of high–frequency EMC problems. This paper presents an extension that has been made to the PO part of the hybrid method in order to allow the modelling of coated metallic surfaces. The coating can consist of an arbitrary number of dielectric or magnetic layers, which can also be lossy or electrically thick.
