Wrap-around Patch Antenna Array for use with Cylindrical Surfaces

A patch antenna array for f = 2.45 GHz is proposed that can be wrapped around a cylindrical surface with a diameter d = 16 cm. If the axis of the cylinder points into z-direction, the antenna shows four beams in neg. x-, pos.x-, neg. y- and pos. y-directions. The radiation pattern calculated with the method of moments shows a good agreement with measured results.
