It has been reported that bow-tie antenna with folded elements can be miniaturized. However, the proposed bow-tie antenna has VSWR characteristic degradation and limited bandwidth. In this paper, we investigate the cause of the VSWR degradation of bow-tie antenna with folded elements and characteristics of the cut bow-tie antenna with folded elements. The cut bow-tie antenna maintains the same wideband characteristic as conventional bow-tie antenna. Moreover, the cut bow-tie antenna with folded elements can be slightly more downsized and obtain more wideband characteristics than bow-tie antenna with folded elements.
