Elliptically Flared Waveguide Horn with Equal Principal Plane Beamwidths
Johannes A.G. Malherbe

In this paper, an X-band waveguide horn is described that has almost identical -10 dB-beamwidths in its principal planes, and exhibits complete symmetry over a solid angle of 0.3789 sr. This is achieved by employing different elliptic flares for the principal planes, enabling the beamwidths in each of the principal planes to be controlled by the ellipticity in that plane.
