Extended Solution Methods in FEKO Suite 5.5: Ray-Launching GO, FEM Modal Ports, Periodic Boundary Conditions, and Windscreen Antenna Modeling

This paper introduces some of the latest extensions and improvements to the electromagnetic kernel of the field computation package FEKO as made available in FEKO Suite 5.5: The ray-launching geometrical optics (GO) has been extended from dielectric to metallic bodies, new finite element based modal port excitations are presented as well as extensions for periodic boundary conditions to handle dielectric media, and also a new windscreen antenna modeling technique is briefly discussed.
