The terrestrial digital broadcast service has been started recently. This system uses the frequency range of 470-716 MHz. In order to receive this service in a car, a very wide band antenna is requested. The W-loop antenna was developed by Fujitsu Ten Limited. In this paper, FEKO simulations are conducted in order to clarify electrical performances of this antenna in the situation mounted on a rear window of a car. Simulation conditions of on the glass antenna are investigated. The infinite dielectric plate model to the glass is shown to be suitable in input impedance estimations and good agreements with calculated and measured results are shown. In the case of estimations of radiation characteristics, it is shown that the finite dielectric plate model to the glass can be applicable. By utilizing MLFMM, simulations are conducted very conveniently and good agreements with calculated and measured results are obtained. Usefulness of a FEKO simulator is confirmed.
