An investigation was commissioned into the safety of emergency services personnel who use TETRA radio equipment on a daily basis. FEKO’s MoM/FEM hybridisation was used to construct simulations for a series of common operating scenarios involving TETRA equipment. These scenarios included various placement positions of TETRA equipment on the body and different vehicles with varying numbers of passengers, optionally wearing stab proof jackets. Models were created and validated with measurements, bulk simulation runs were done and eventual results were compared with ICNIRP guidelines, resulting in conclusive findings about the safety of the client’s TETRA implementation.
