Introducing the Finite Element Method into the Commercially Available Method of Moments Code FEKO
Frans JC Meyer, Marianne Bingle

The commercial code FEKO is based on a comprehensive Method of Moments (MoM) implementation including the Surface Equivalence Principle (SEP) and Volume Equivalence Principle (VEP) for modeling dielectrics. The MoM has also been hybridized with the Physical Optics (PO) and Uniform Theory of Diffraction (UTD) to allow modeling of large metallic objects. In this paper we present the extension of FEKO to include the hybrid Finite Element Method (FEM) / MoM which broadens the application range of the FEKO solver.
