Space Mapping Optimization of Microwave Structures with FEKO

This paper discusses the space mapping optimization of microwave structures using the electromagnetic simulator FEKO as a fine model evaluator. We present the basics of space mapping methodology, implementation details of employing FEKO in an automatic optimization loop as well as illustrative examples involving microwave filter design problems. Comparison of computational efficiency of space mapping and direct optimization is also given.
