An Analysis of Large Vehicular Modeling on ARINC’s Linux Cluster
Jason R. Miller, Terry R. Vogler
ARINC Engineering Services
The ARINC Electromagnetic Programs group runs electromagnetic coupling and far-field pattern generation on electrically large models, using FEKO™ software on a Linux cluster. A typical aircraft model is analyzed to investigate the memory and time requirements in different serial and parallel processing configurations. Both MoM-MLFMM and PO computational engines are considered. Original usage guidelines are stated and reexamined to test their continued applicability. While mostly remaining intact, new guidelines are offered. Results also support some decisions on future hardware upgrade paths to expand ARINC’s FEKO™ capabilities.
