We propose a new estimation method for far-field antenna factor and gain of broadband antenna at near distance. Our proposed method is based on the techniques of a time domain analysis and a time-frequency analysis using a short time Fourier transform. Our proposed method can be determined the estimated antenna distance at each frequency to estimate the far-field gain. In the case of Bi-conical antenna, the difference between far-field gain and the estimated gain using our proposed method is less than 0.2 dB at 5 m antenna distance in the frequency range from 30 MHz to 240 MHz. In the case of Log-periodic dipole array antenna for EMI measurement, the difference between far-field gain and the estimated gain using our proposed method is less than 0.25 dB at 5 m antenna distance in the frequency range from 300 MHz to 1200 MHz.
